✅ Discover stunning locations right on your doorstep.

What’s included?

  • Free entry for 2 adults and up to 3 children (or 1 adult and 4 children).

How Do I Get My Free National Trust Pass?

During Heritage Open Days (12th-21st September 2025), you can enjoy free access to participating National Trust properties across the West Midlands.

While the National Trust hasn’t yet released its full participation list (check back September 1st), this is an incredible opportunity to explore beautiful properties like Wightwick Manor, Biddulph Grange Garden, and Charlecote Park without entry fees.

Do I need to book in advance?

For some popular properties like Birmingham Back to Backs or Attingham Park, pre-booking is essential as spaces fill quickly. Other sites may allow you to simply turn up, but checking ahead is always recommended.

How to secure your spot:

  1. Visit the Heritage Open Days website and use their events filter
  2. Select “National Trust” under the organisation category
  3. Browse participating West Midlands properties
  4. Book directly through the National Trust’s website for your chosen property

When can I use my free National Trust entry?

Free entry as part of these Heritage Open Days 2025 is running from 12th to 21st September 2025 in England. Bear in mind that not all National Trust locations are taking part, so check on their site.

Can adults without kids use a National Trust pass?

Absolutely! Whether you’re a family, couple, or solo explorer, these free entry days are perfect for discovering new favourite spots across the West Midlands.

Is parking free with the National Trust during the open days?

Yes, National Trust frequently offers free passes throughout the year, the most recent one in August 2025. This article will be updated every time the pass is rolled out – so watch this space.

Best National Trust Sites in the Heart of England

Use your free pass to explore these must-visit spots:

Attingham Park (Shropshire)

Regency-era mansion with deer-filled parkland, walled gardens, and riverside walks, Attingham Park sits between Shrewsbury and Telford, and ranks among the top places to visit in Shropshire for families.

Biddulph Grange Garden (Staffordshire)

globally inspired Victorian garden with hidden tunnels, koi ponds, and Instagram-worthy floral displays, Biddulph Grange Garden is one of the best outdoor activities in Stoke-on-Trent.

Moseley Old Hall (Wolverhampton)

The stately home is where King Charles II hid in a priest hole during the Civil War. One of the top attractions in Wolverhampton, history buffs will live the secret passages here – especially if coupling the visit with a trip to Boscobel House and Royal Oak, where the king also hid up a tree that still stands there today!

Croft Castle (Herefordshire)

romantic castle with ancient woodlands, a walled orchard, and panoramic walking trails, another great spot near Leominster in Shropshire.

Birmingham Back to Backs

One of the best things to do in Birmingham, here you can step into 19th-century Britain’s last surviving courtyard of back-to-back houses. We enjoyed learning about how the working-class people lived and worked in Birmingham – at the time known as “the workshop of the world” and where the Industrial Revolution began.

Top Tip: Some properties exclude parking fees, so check before you go.
